Conventional concentration technologies include in particular evaporation or Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes. Evaporation involves high temperatures, while RO is based on the application of substantial pressure. Either has a strong impact on the concentrate; i.e., there can be substantial changes to the taste profile of the concentrate, nutrients as well as its bioactivity. Both require a tremendous input of energy.
